Upcoming Courses:

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid – Level II First Aid

Knowing what to do in the first few minutes following an accident can be the difference between life and death. This nationally accredited certificate provides participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide initial emergency care in accordance with approved first aid principles. This course will also allow you to provide basic first aid response in emergency life support until emergency assistance arrives.

This course is the benchmark standard that is suitable for anybody requiring a Level II First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate for the workplace, home, sport and recreational use.

This course has a theory component that is completed in your own time that will take between 2-8hrs depending on participants existing knowledge.  You can complete the theory online or in a hard-copy booklet depending on your learning styles.


TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES:

Boat Licence Course & Personal Water Craft Safety Licence:
$90/ $70. Discount if you register for both courses $135.
Obtain your boat licence & personal water craft safety certificate in a supportive environment and learn everything you need to know to be safe on the water.
This course is accredited through Transport Safety Victoria and requires a minimum of 6 participants to commence.
Participants are required to read the Victorian Recreational Boating Safety Handbook prior to attending the course.
 
RSA (Responsible Serving of Alcohol):
 $75

This course covers a range of topics including;  Problems associated with excessive consumption of alcohol and strategies on  how to identify it, benefits of responsible service, alcohol and the law, facts about alcohol, improving the atmosphere of your premises and handling difficult customers.

CPR update (HLTAID001):
3.5 hour course covering the skills and knowledge required to successfully perform CPR.

 
HLTAID004 First Aid for Educators:

The HLTAID004 is a new course (unit of competency) and is ideal for educators, support staff, child care workers and careers. This course is also suitable for anybody working in day care, family day care, pre-school and after school programs and care services.

The Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has endorsed the HLTAID004 as satisfying all educator requirements for First Aid, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Training as outlined in the National Regulations.

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to provide emergency first aid, life support, management of casualty(s) in a range of situations commonly found in the education and care industry.

Gentle Exercise to Music:  

Mondays, 11.45am-12.45pm. $5

These classes  use a combination of cardio equipment and light weights. Each class aims to improve flexibility, strength, balance and your overall cardiovascular health.                                                                                                                                                               

Yoga:

Tuesdays, 10.00am-11.30am with Lisa Moor. (Gita Gold Diploma of Teaching, Hatha Yoga.)
Nurture your body, mind and soul.  Class involves gentle, achievable stretches, postures and health restoring breathing techniques that allow the body to gradually improve your overall health.
Wednesdays, 9.30am-11,.00am  with Leisa Kirk (Caitanya Yoga)
 
Men’s Yoga:
Wednesdays, 8.00pm-9.30pm.
 
Walking Group:
Tuesdays, 8.00am-9.00am, and Thursday 9.00-10.30am.
 
Intermediate Pilates:

Craft Group: Woolly Friends

CHILDREN ACTIVITIES:

Social Skills for Primary Aged Children:
Wednesdays, 4.00pm-5.00pm.
This class teaches language skills, communication techniques and social skills to primary school aged students.

2nd Wednesday monthly, 2.00pm-3.30pm.
 CWA:
2nd Tuesday monthly, 7.30pm-9.30pm.

1st Tuesday and 2nd Monday monthly,

Scribes and Scribblers Group:
Self help group where you share your stories, poems or other text with the group. 2nd Tuesday monthly, 10.00am-12noon. Gold coin.
